The idea

Bosch brought our team at think moto on board after the initial launch of their chatbot, Frizz. Our goal was to enhance the tone of voice, improve the backend, boost usability, and ensure scalability in Cognigy.AI. Additionally, we were tasked with developing new features to expand Frizz’s capabilities.
The well-known desktop interface is outdated. While our physical workspaces have evolved significantly, our digital workspaces have remained largely unchanged since the 1970s. The main idea behind PHAI was to develop a new operating system that moves away from the traditional document- and application-based structure. Instead, it aimed to adopt a process-oriented approach to boost user productivity, creating an operating system that feels more like a tool for completing tasks rather than a place to store random files.

What we did

Analyze

We began by analyzing Frizz's current state, focusing on the stories it was designed to tell, as well as its user interface. One of our first steps was migrating Frizz to Cognigy.AI, a bot platform that serves as the backend for the chatbot.

Build

To refine Frizz's tone of voice, our writing team crafted new dialogues. We improved the UI through iterative design variations, which were later tested using A/B testing to determine the most effective approach. We also introduced new features, such as a listening mode for Frizz's stories.

Test

All design variations, new features, and the updated tone of voice were validated through independent user testing. Insights from these tests guided us in refining the final design before presenting it to the client.

Where we ended up

We successfully delivered a comprehensive redesign for Frizz, enhancing not just the visual aspects but also the backend functionality, tone of voice, and new features for future use. The second phase of the project focused on developing innovative features for Frizz across the entire Bosch.com website. Unfortunately, my contribution to this phase was limited as my internship concluded with the presentation of the Frizz redesign.

What I learned

Working on this project for a major client like Bosch was an invaluable experience. It taught me the intricacies of client communication, presenting insights, designing meaningful variants, and conducting user testing. I also learned the importance of receiving and implementing client feedback effectively. This project was a cornerstone of my internship, shaping my professional growth and teaching me how to collaborate effectively in a professional team.
